The title of opening program Insurrectionelle (Farouk Beloufa, 1972) refers to a film that the Algerian filmmaker Farouk Beloufa was unable to complete because the censors intervened. Four films by Santiago Álvarez, Ahmed Bouanani, Assia Djebar and Nadir Bouhmouch help to evoke and reconstruct the unfinished film. Curated by Annabelle Aventurin and Léa Morin and presented in collaboration with the Open City Documentary Festival in London, the program will be introduced by Ali Essafi and accompanied by a conversation with Brigitta Kuster.
